V.O. Chidambaranar Port Authority is a autonomous body constituted under Chapter II, Section 3(1) of the Major Port Authorities Act 2021 by the Central Government. The Board members appointed by Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Government of India consists of Chairperson, Deputy Chairperson and 7 Board Members. It functions under the administrative control of the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Government of India.
