Port Security

PFSO and CISF form a robust security framework that safeguards India's maritime gateways. A PFSO is designated under the ISPS Code (International Ship and Port Facility Security Code) to ensure the security of port facilities. Their role is critical in maintaining maritime safety and preventing unlawful acts. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) is a paramilitary force under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India with adequate security personnel headed by a Deputy Commandant is deployed to man the vulnerable points in the Port area. In addition, Private Securites and watchmen are deployed by private agencies for other vital installations adjacent to Port areas.
